MASU International Cooperation office spent ‘Arctic weekend' with international students
MASU International Cooperation office arranged ‘Arctic weekend', a field trip for international students from India, Palestine, Zimbabwe, Egypt, and Azerbaijan. Students, who have begun or continued their studies at Murmansk Arctic State University and Murmansk State Technical University (MSTU) explored Teriberka that is located on the coast of the Barents Sea. During the trip, they also learnt about the historical milestones in Russian Arctic exploration and development.
The field trip to Teriberka was also a great opportunity to present Arctic cuisine to students, who came from southern countries and knew little about the local food. International students had their first taste of true Arctic during cooking class in a coastal restaurant of the settlement.
‘Teriberka is a wonderful place. The sea and the waves are spectacular. I have not seen anything like this at home. Despite the weather, my fellow students and I are delighted to be here, in Teriberka, and in Murmansk, which, by the way, I like a lot', said Godwin Tongai Kusereka, MSTU student from Zimbabwe.
The field trip was organized under the sponsorship of the Project Office for Arctic Development.
