The project was initiated by Finnmark Faculty of the Arctic University of Norway and received the support of the Barents Secretariat.

On the 24th — 26th of February the first seminar took place within the project. During the seminar the Russian and Norwegian participants made presentation on the modern state of pre-school education in Russia and Norway, paying special attention to changes in the legislation and methodology, challenges that kindergartens face and innovations in their work. The project participants visited a Norwegian kindergarten in Kirkenes and saw the ideas of democracy, cultural diversity and well-being support in practice.

During the seminar discussions the Russian and Norwegian project partners mentioned common tendencies in the sphere of pre-school education in Russia and Norway, defined perspectives of further cooperation. The next seminar will take place in Murmansk, at MSHU. Within the seminar the partners will not just discuss actual problems of pre-school education but also deliver lectures to the students.
