Project «Peace Education»

MSHU took part in the project «Peace Education» by invitation of the Arctic University of Norway. The idea of the project is to popularize the program in Peace Education, realized in Tromso, to develop methods of conflict resolution, to teach mediations technologies.

On 19-21 November the conference on ‘Peace Education. Network Cooperation" took place in Tromso where the Norwegian partners presented the structure and content of the Master program in Peace Education, realized at the Arctic University of Norway in Tromso.

The participants of the conference discussed the challenges of implementation of the Master program in Peace Education in the network form at Russian Universities. Murmansk State Humanities University, Northern Arctic Federal University and Petrozavodsk State University made presentations, reflecting their vision of the project and program. MSHU was represented by Vice-Head of International Relations Alexandra Burtseva, PhD, Vice-Head of International Department, Olga Kobzeva, PhD, Vice-Director of the Institute for Psychology and Pedagogy, Maria Ilitcheva, PhD, Ass. Prof. of the Department of History, and Roman Polikarpov, Senior lecturer of the Department of Intercultural Communications, Language Theory and Journalism.

As the nearest perspective, the participants of the conference consider the establishment of Winter and Summer Schools, within which the partners will carry out practical and theoretical courses in the sphere of Social Work, Sociology, Conflictology and Pedagogy for students and NGO representatives.
