Barents Summit

On 3-4 June 2013 the Barents Summit took place in Kirkenes, Norway. It brought together Prime-Ministers of Russia, Norway, Finland and Iceland, Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Nordic countries, business and civic circles of the Barents Euro-Arctic region. During the summit the new Declaration, which will define the perspectives of cooperation in BEAR for the nearest decades, was signed.

Addressing in Kirkenes, the Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev emphasised that «the Arctic problematics, the topics of the Barents region, and the Arctic issues in general, in a broad sense have joined the ranks of the national policy of Russia».

Murmansk State Humanities University was represented by Vice-Rector for Science and Research Pavel Fedorov and Interpreter of International Cooperation and PR Office Yulia Shestova.
