From 15.11.2012 to 17.11.2012 a group of MSHU students and alumnis took part in the Matchmaking Conference organized within the ENPI Kolarctic Project «Young Innovative Entrepreneurs» by Kemi-Tornio University of Applied Sciences and Rovaniemi University of Applied Sciences (Finland).

The conference was a big event with over 100 participants from Russia, Norway, Finland and Sweden and it took place in three towns of Haparanda, Tornio and Rovaniemi. MSHU was represented by Ekaterina Tamistova, the project coordinator, Ksenia Rumiantseva, Anna Pavlova and Diana Ivanova, students from the Faculty of Arts Education, Technology and Design, and Pavel Zychkov, an alumni of the same faculty.

The main objective of the event was to bring together current and prospective entrepreneurs in the Barents region in order to network altogether, share their ideas and experience and investigate new business possibilities.

The conference programme was rich in events and included inspiring presentations of keynote speakers who mostly were representatives of current successful businesses and kindly shared their expertise, there were also two big workshops focused on practical work and brainstorming, as well as evening networking events. During the workshops all the participants were divided into small groups of 10−12 people with a facilitator to guide the discussions which were focused on creating an innovative idea for a new business and co-creating Inno Barents Lab (a lab organized within the project) by brainstorming on what kind of help is needed to young innovative entrepreneurs to start or develop their business.

In general, the conference was a big success because it provided a great opportunity for like-minded people from different countries to meet in one place and share their ideas and experience as well as to find business partners. MSHU would like to thank the organizers for this brilliant and inspiring conference.
