On September 25, 2012 MSHU hosted a meeting between the partners of CETIA project (Coastal Environment, Technology and Innovation in the Arctic) funded by the EU programme Kolarctic ENPI CBC.

One of the project’s tasks is to enhance academic cooperation between universities by developing joint courses and joint master degree programme in Environmental Management in the Arctic by four big universities of the Barents Euro Arctic region: Murmansk State Humanities University, Murmansk State Technical University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University and University of Tromsø.

The meeting was dedicated to developing curriculum and detailed study plan for joint Master degree programme in Environmental Management in the Arctic and discussing joint courses which will be exchanged between partner universities for existing Master programmes.

During the meeting each partner made a presentation of study modules and took an active part in updating study plan of the future joint master degree programme. The following issues were also raised for a detailed discussion: basic requirements to students, procedures of students enrollment and master thesis defense. One of the most urgent issues for today is the problem of joint master programme status.
