Meeting with representatives of Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in St.Petersburg
On December 8 the meeting took place of MSHU management and staff with representatives of Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in St. Petersburg: Ms Lucyna Morawska-Uhryn, The Consul and Mr Wojciech Cholewinsky, the Vice-Consul. The meeting was also attended by Nadezhda Gorina, Attaché of the Representative Office of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Murmansk.
MSHU was represented by Rector Andrey Sergeev, Vice-Rector for Research, Pavel Fedorov, Head of International Office, Mikhail Smirnyakov, Head of the Polish Cultural Society «Polonia» in Murmansk Grazhina Rynio, who also teaches the Polish language in MSHU, and Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication Olga Iivanishcheva and Svetlana Antoshina, Head of the Chair of the Russian Language, Literature and Methodology, where Polish is taught.
During the meeting Rector, Andrey Sergeev made a presentation about the history, structure, and international activities of our university. All the Russian participants expressed their interest in further developing cooperation with Polish partners. This desire was fully supported by the Polish guests, who noted the growing interest in Poland in the Russian language and culture. According to Ms Morawska-Uhryn there are many areas in MSHU, that might be potentially interesting for Polish universities.
An important point during the visit was when some students, who study Polish, became involved into the conversation. Ms. Consul expressed the willingness to help in providing with the necessary literature. Our Polish guests became interested in the proposal of Vice-Rector Fedorov to deliver a lecture within the framework of MSHU internal project «The Big World».
