On November 24 at the Faulty of Physical and Mathematical Education, Computer Science and Programming a lecture was delivered on the topic «Artificial Intelligence: an Introduction to Computational Linguistics Perspective». The activity was organized for MSHU students and lectures by the Department of Computer Science and General Technical Disciplines. The lecture was given by Ciprian Gerstenberger, the computer linguist at the University of Tromsø (Norway).

In his speech the lecturer covered general issues of artificial intelligence (AI) and Norwegian scientists’ experience in this field. Ciprian Gerstenberger showed possibilities of using AI tools on the example of programming in computational linguistics. Summing up his speech, Ciprian Gerstenberger noted that any student, who has at least a little programming skills, can create software based on artificial intelligence.

The material presented caused a genuine interest of students and faculty members. We hope for further cooperation with Norwegian colleagues in the development of information technologies.
