A visit to Rovaniemi

On 27-29 October 2011 MSHU Rector, Professor Andrey Sergeev and Inna Ryzhkova, Director of the Center for Academic Mobility, International Projects and Programs, had an official visit to the University of Lapland (Rovaniemi, Finland).

During their visit the representatives of MSHU discussed mechanisms of developing the program in Comparative Social Work which is realized within the project «Cross-Border University»; got acquainted with the structure of the Faculty of Arts and Design at the University of Lapland, main directions of scientific research and education, plans of work in the sphere of Academic Student and Teacher Mobility.

The Russian delegation has also visited Lapland Institute for Tourism Research and Education where the information on the structure and main content of academic programs in the sphere of tourism, necessary requirements for Bachelor and Master programs was presented. The Russian and Finnish partners agreed to consider Tourism as innovative and at the same time integrative unity, comprising Social Sciences, Humanities, Natural Scientific Sciences and Economic Subjects. Both parties were satisfied with results of the visit and shared the idea of mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of Design and Tourism.

On the 16th November representatives from the Faculty of Arts and Design (University of Lapland) Maria Huhmarniemi and Virpi Nurmela are expected to visit MSHU in order to discuss directions of cooperation in the sphere of Design and Arts, as well as opportunities for Academic Student and Teacher Mobility.
