Official launch of the new international project

On the 21-22 of October a new joint project called CETIA: «Coastal Environment, Technology and Innovation in the Arctic» co-financed by EC programme Kolarctic was launched on the premises of Murmansk State Humanities University. MSHU was represented by employees of Center for Academic Mobility, International Projects and Programs Inna Ryzhkova, Alexandra Burtseva, Ekaterina Tamistova and dean of Faculty of Sciences, Physical Culture and Life Safety Alexey Nikolaev.

The project represents a multilateral consortium of partners and associate members of northern regions of Norway, Sweden and Russia and involves University of Tromsø, Luleå Technical University, Akvaplan Niva, Northern Arctic Federal University, Murmansk State Humanities University, Murmansk State Technical University, Murmansk Institute for Marine Biology, Polar Research Institute for Marine Fishery and Oceanography, INEP KSC RAS. MSHU role in the projects consists of development of joint master programme in environmental engineering in the Arctic.

The meeting agenda included development of project implementation plan, task groups discussions and appointing task group leaders. On decision of the task group responsible for educational part of the project MSHU was appointed to coordinate joint curriculum and study plan of the future master programme. Alexey Nikolaev, PhD in Veterenary and dean of Faculty of Sciences, Physical Culture and Life Safety will be scientific supervisor of the programme.
