A visit of the Consul General of France
On 13.09.2011 MSHU was visited by the official delegation which included Elizabeth Barsac, the Consul General of France in Saint-Petersburg, M. Schelkunova, a representative of the Institute of France in Saint-Petersburg, and N. V. Gorina, attaché of the division of MFA of Russia in Murmansk.
At the meeting MSHU was represented by A. M. Sergeev, rector, P. V. Fedorov, deputy rector for science and research, I. V. Ryzhkova, head of the center for academic mobility, projects and programs, N. I. Kurganova and E. A. Malahova, teachers of the French language, R. A. Loshakov, professor of the department of philosophy and sociology, and M. A. Smirnyakov, head of international office.
After the welcome words rector A. M. Sergeev introduced the representatives of MSHU who were present at the meeting and during the electronic presentation told about our university with a focus on international cooperation.
In his presentation deputy rector P. V. Fedorov touched upon the big role which France played in the history of Russia and the Russian North in particular.
N. I. Kurganova spoke about the significance of the French direction in the international activities of MSHU and about the consideration which out university has been showing to teaching French language and culture for 20 years already.
After the meeting in the rector’s office the participants went to the center for academic mobility, international projects and programs where Elizabeth Barsac and other guests met with MSHU students who study French language. The language of communication was French. This meeting lasted for more than an hour despite the tight working schedule. Elizabeth Barsac showed great interest and expressed a desire to participate in the inner MSHU project «The big world». Within this project well-known scholars, diplomats and politicians give lectures to student and lectures of our university.
