On 18th−21st of May lecturers from MSHU participated in the international workshop «Creative use of LMS, wikis and mobile technologies for learning» held at the department of education at University of Tromsø.

MSHU was represented by Iia Konovalova, PhD in Pedagogy and dean deputy of the faculty of physics and mathematics, Oleg Lyash, PhD in pedagogy, associate professor at the department of computer and technical sciences, Roman Polikarpov, senior lecturer at the department of computer and technical sciences and Ekaterina Tamistova, specialist in international projects of center for academic mobility, international projects and programs.

The workshop was dedicated to the problems of use of modern technologies in education, their potential and challenges. Professor Rory McGreal from Athabasca university in Canada was invited as an expert and he gave presentations on use of LMS and Wikipedia resources for learning, open educational resources and mobile technologies as a means of providing distance education. MSHU participants delivered their reports in English on LMS Moodle, distance learning technologies at MSHU, creative use of computer technologies in teaching physics and organization of academic mobility of MSHU students by means of distance learning. Every day of the workshop involved MSHU and University of Tromsø presentations followed by keen discussions.

It was agreed to publish the proceedings of the workshop in a bilingual edition of MSHU.
