Swedish journalists' visit

On May 20 Lars Hallberg, Head of Division Media, Audio Technology Event Production from the University of Luleå (Sweden), visited the Department of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication.

During the visit they discussed the perspectives of cooperation between MSHU and the Department of Mass Media of the University of Luleå for the next academic year. The negotiations took place in the Center of Academic mobility and O. N. Ivanischeva, Head of the MSHU Department of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication, singled out the following results of work: «Bridge to Democracy and Journalism» project has been planned to be continued, the plan of the scientific project of «Media culture of Russia, Sweden, Finland and Norway» was developed, ways to promote academic mobility of students studying journalism from partner institutions were defined.

It was decided that the following year two third-year students who study journalism and a master student of «Theory and practice of intercultural communication in multiethnic and multicultural environment» would go to Piteå (Sweden), and a student form Sweden who studies «Radio and TV products» would come to MSHU to carry out research for his degree thesis.

During this visit the presentation of the first releases of student TV of MSHU Department of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communication were made, where fifth-year students of MSHU showed their works. The exam works were evaluated by Lars Hallberg, Head of Division Media, Audio Technology Event Production from the University of Luleå (Sweden), Stefan Wennman, lecturer of the same Department, S. V. Kontievsky, Vice rector for organizational issues, educational work and MSHU social policy, U. A. Erofeev, journalist, O. N. Ivanischeva, M. V. Sadokhova, E. V. Hlebutina, lecturers of MSHU Department of Cultural Studies and Intercultural Communication, Theory of Language and Journalism, MSHU first-year, third-year and fifth-year students who study journalism.

Journalists from TV-21 came to be glad of young journalists’ work and make a TV report about the presentation of the «StudTV» project.
