International program «Contemporary challenges in higher education»

During the period from the 3rd till the 23rd of October 2010 Inna Ryzhkova, Director of the Center for Academic Mobility, International Projects and Programs had a study trip to the United State of America within the program «Contemporary challenges in higher education».

The nominee of Inna Ryzhkova was selected by the U. S. Consulate General in Saint-Petersburg. The participation in the program was covered by the U. S. Department. The participants were teachers and administrative staff of Universities from different countries: Spain, Israel, India, Mozambique, Palestine and others. Russia was represented by two institutions: Higher School of Economics (Moscow) and Murmansk State Humanities University.

During the study trip Inna Ryzhkova visited the biggest U. S. cities: Washington, New-York, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Atlanta and others. The program included visiting the leading universities such as Princeton University, The University of Kansas, The University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University and many others. The participants of the program got detailed information on the U. S system of higher education, peculiarities of Universities’ accreditation process, specifics of University management, student recruiting, in particular on the international level.

In each of the visited institution Inna Ryzhkova made a presentation of MSHU as the leading Humanities centre in the Russian High North. As a result of the study trip MSHU became member of the Institute of International Education, USA.
