On the 29th of September Rector of Murmansk State Humanities University Professor Andrey M. Sergeev made a presentation at the Conference for regional politicians of the Barents Euro-Arctic region.

The conference included presentations of experts — representatives of working groups of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council, Barents Regional Council and joint working groups which presented their vision of the current state in the mail priority directions of the Barents cooperation and their plans for the future.

MSHU Rector’s report was devoted to problems and perspectives of a humanities university in the system of Barents cooperation. Professor Andrey M. Sergeev covered the problem of the Barents-identity, the trends of a modern university such as humanitarization and internationalization, and mentioned the new aims set for the higher school today.
