Visit of Professor of the University of Lapland

On the 21st-22nd of April 2010 Tarja Orjasniemi, Professor in Social Work of the University of Lapland (Rovaniemi, Finland), visited MSPU.

Tarja Orjasniemi is also Leader of the direction «Comparative Social Work» within the international project «Barents Cross-Border University». During her visit Ms Orjasiemi had a meeting with Andrey Sergeev, MSPU Rector, where they discussed the perspectives of further cooperation within the Cross-Border University.

Besides, Professor Orjasniemi had a meeting with the teaching staff of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Work and delivered a lecture on Social Work issues in Finland.

Summing up the results, Ms. Orjasniemi mentioned a good organization of the meeting and particular warmth with which she was hosted at MSPU. The Professor underlined that in August 2010 the annual Summer School in Social Work would be held at the University of Lapland, and MSPU lecturers and students of the program in Social Work would participate in it.
