MASU representative took part in the 5th Korea Arctic Academy

The 5th Korea Arctic Academy, an annual event dedicated to the development of the northern territories, was held from July 3 to 13 in Busan and Seoul (South Korea).

MASU was presented at the event by the advisor of Research and International Cooperation Office, Mikhail Uksusov.

Within the academy framework, the participants were presented reports on the following topics: climate change, geopolitical processes in the Arctic, the structure of interstate bodies on Arctic issues, the activities and interests of Korea in the Arctic. In addition, academy participants presented their speeches on topics related to the study and sustainable development of circumpolar regions. Mikhail Uksusov gave a mini-lecture on the topic «Human Capital in the Arctic: BRIDGE Project».

The event also included field trips to Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, Busan New Port, Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) and the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI).

The event was held under the auspices of the University of the Arctic (UArctic) and was sponsored by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries of Korea.
