On May 20 and 21 in the Youth Center for technological and social entrepreneurship «Coworking 51», case presentations were held as part of the international project of the Kolarctic CBC «BRIDGE: Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability».

Participants (students from MASU, PetrSU, ITMO University, Arctic University of Norway and Lapland University of Applied Sciences) presented their business solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises from Finland, where in March the first project meeting was held.

Among the companies that acted as case studies were: the municipality of Tornio; travel companies Seadventures and Kemi Tourism; restaurant and spa complexes Tervolan Kurkiaura, Hovilompolo and Hulkoffgården; IT developers and consulting agencies Aurora Data and Systems, Datadrivers, BeSmart Consulting, Arctic Smart Village; active park Lappari; and Puuterä Jari Halonen, an individual entrepreneur. The main focus for business development in this round was on marketing decisions and promotion through social networks. Students had the opportunity to meet with representatives of companies in Tornio personally, after which they were doing business research and preparing final presentations for two months. Following the results of the oral defense, the coordinators and the project staff will also collect and analyze information from the feedback for further developing the project.

The next project meeting will take place in Vardo, Norway. Work with companies of Murmansk is scheduled for spring 2020.
