MASU on international workshop within High North Dialogue 2019

April 1-5, Nord University in Bodø, Norway, held a workshop International Governance and Business in the High North. This event was a part of one of the biggest conference dedicated to Arctic development in High North Dialogue 2019.

Advisor of the Research and International Cooperation office Mikhail Uksusov presented MASU at this event.

The main theme of this course was Smart Cities development in the Arctic. Students attended lectures given by professors from Finland, Norway, the USA and Russia and presented their own scenarios of Smart Cities development in the Arctic until 2040. Participants were also invited to make a report on the various sections of the conference and analyze the sustainable development of business and management in the north on the example of one of the companies to which the visit was organized.

About 80 people from Russia, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan, Norway, France, China, Portugal, Lithuania, the USA, Canada, Columbia, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland and others took part in the workshop.

After successfully passing the online-exam, students will receive certificates of completion.

Smart City is a concept of integrating several information and communication technologies and the Internet of things for managing city property to improve life quality through well-functioning management system, urban infrastructure, develop entrepreneurship and education, ensuring security etc.

Scenarios is one of the methods used in future studies (futurology). Scenarios are a collection of equally convincing stories, and each of them describes the potential future.
