Finalizing the second stage of CBC Kolarctic BRIDGE project

The «Coworking-51» Youth Center for Technological and Social Entrepreneurship of MASU hosted the case presentations within the framework of the CBC Kolarctic project «Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability».

For two days, project participants from MASU, PetrSU, ITMO, the Arctic University of Norway and the Lapland University of Applied Sciences were standing the oral defense of their business solutions for small and medium-sized enterprises from the Norwegian town of Vardø, where the project participants had a study trip to in October 2019.

As a reminder, the cases for this session were: tourist complex Varanger View, vocational school Seafood Center, greenhouse initiative Grow Arctic, tourist information center Vardo Tourism, Vardo Hotel, Museum complex under the open sky Vardohus Fortress, creative association Kulturpilot, Vardo Port, gastronomic project Varanger cook and the historic building of the Grand Hotel

The winner of this round was the team working on the Kulturpilot case study. Representatives of the team will be able to visit Murmansk in the Spring 2020, where the next stage of the project will be held.

Participants from MASU were awarded certificates from the organizer of the last session, the Arctic University of Norway, and also received certificates of completion of the additional educational program «Development of medium and small business in the Barents region», implemented as part of the project.

CBC Kolarctic 2014-2020 is a financial instrument to support cooperation between the Northern regions of Finland, Sweden, Norway and the North-West of Russia. Program objective:

  • Support for economic and social development in regions on both sides of the common border;
  • Solving common problems in the field of environmental protection, public health, and safety;
  • Creating better conditions and prerequisites for increasing the mobility of people, goods and capital.
