MASU at the International Arctic School at the Harbin Institute of Technology

January 5 to 12, the International Arctic School was held in Harbin (People's Republic of China) - an event dedicated to the environmental safety of the Arctic territories. This event was attended by over 100 young researchers and professionals from Russia, China, the USA, Norway, Finland, Australia, Canada, Spain, India, Bangladesh, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Panama, etc.

At the event, MASU was represented by an advisor of International Cooperation office Mikhail Uksusov. Within the winter school’s framework, the participants were presented reports on various topics related to air pollution, wastewater treatment, climate change, China's activities and interests in the Arctic, the thematic network of UArctic “Arctic Monitoring Assessment Program”, etc. 

In addition, participants of the winter school prepared and presented group reports on agenda of the “Polar environment and Ecosystems” forum. Mikhail Uksusov became a member of the group working on the project “New insights into aerosol and climate in the Arctic”, and was also elected ambassador on behalf of the participants of the winter school for the final speech at the aforementioned forum.

The event was held under the auspices of the University of the Arctic (UArctic) and was organized by the Harbin Institute of Technology.
