Last week online business case presentation was held as part of the international project of the Kolarctic cross-border cooperation programme «Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability».

The students from the Murmansk Arctic State University, the Petrozavodsk State University, ITMO University (Saint-Petersburg, Russia), the Arctic University of Norway (Alta, Norway) and the Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Tornio, Finland) took part in the project. The participants presented their business solutions for Murmansk’s small and medium enterprises that they had visited in early March.

Enterprises that took part in the project are: travel agencies «Lappi Tour» and «Raduga Severa», the Murmansk branch of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers, an Interactive Museum «Fokus», cafe «Botanik», night club «Ledokol», school of foreign languages «Albion», freediving school «Arcticfree» and an early childhood development centre «Ama Kids».

The team working on the case of the «Lappi Tour» agency has become the winner of this round of the project. Team members, including a third-year student from MASU and the future economist, Anastasia Avchinnikova, have got a chance to participate in the next stage of the project that will take place in Petrozavodsk in autumn 2020.

The participants of the session will be awarded with certificates and diplomas of the educational programme «Development of medium and small business in the Barents region» implemented by MASU as part of the project.

The delegation of the European Union in Russia noted the success of the project «BRIDGE» carried out in Russia by MASU. The project itself was chosen to illustrate an effective international cooperation in the North-Western region of Russia.

«BRIDGE» is a three-year-project launched by Kolarctic CBC programme in 2018. The goal of the project is to create an Internet platform where international groups of graduate students could solve real business cases of potential employers from small and medium enterprises. During the sessions student teams help companies to establish contact with customers, develop a plan for entering the market and solve problems in the field of innovative business development.
