The third session of «BRIDGE: Barents Region Initiative for Developing Growth and Employability» is currently taking place at MASU in the youth center of technological and social entrepreneurship «Coworking-51».

«BRIDGE» was created by the cross-border cooperation project — Kolarctic (Kolarctic CBC) in 2018, it’s designed for 3 years. The goal of the project is to create an internet platform where international groups of graduating students could solve real business cases of potential employers from small and medium businesses. During the sessions of the project student teams help companies interact with clients, create plans to enter the market and come up with innovative development solutions for enterprises. The participants are students of the Russian universities, the Arctic University of Norway (Alta, Norway) and the Lapland university of Applied Sciences (Tornio, Finland). MASU is the coordinator of the project in Russia.

The session was attended by students from the Petrozavodsk State University and the ITMO University (Saint-Petersburg, Russia). The participants met and interviewed the clients who provided them with business cases. They also communicated with foreign partners from Norway and Finland via a video conference call.

Most of the enterprises are engaged in tourism, culture, entertainment and education. While working on their cases students have the opportunity to develop and show their professional skills — the ability to make business plans and strategies, promote products on the market and interact with potential customers. «BRIDGE» also significantly increases the students' employment opportunities.

During the today’s session the participants watched an introductory video about Murmansk and learned about the tourism potential of the region. Students exchanged business ideas and will continue working on projects from home.
