Participants of the international project «BeTech» visited the office of «Enel Russia» company on February 26. The meeting was held by Vadim Ulanov, regional representative of «Enel Rus Wind Cola» LLC.

Students watched the presentation about the company’s new international project that would be implemented in the Murmansk region. This will be the most powerful wind farm above the Arctic circle.

«I learned a lot of new information about our city, namely that electricity can be obtained in other ways. By means of wind turbines, for example. In the near future 57 such constructions will be installed in Murmansk what will lower our electric bills and improve the environmental situation in the region — as the wind power is a renewable source of energy,» said Yulia Shevyakova, a student of the Murmansk Cadet School and the project participant.

The importance of the right choice of the future profession was also mentioned during the visit.

«Vadim shared his experience and advised us to choose what we are interested in and what we believe is important and will develop in the future. The meeting was interesting and informative. We also learned a lot about the engineering profession. Now it has been added to my list of possible professions,» Oleg Zaichikov, a student of the Murmansk Academic Lyceum and the project participant, shared his impressions.

The visit was organized by LLC «Socium+», the regional coordinator of the international project «BeTech: development of common approaches to involving young people in the technical and natural science sphere». The project is funded by the Kolarctic cross-border cooperation programme and its main goal is to generate and develop interest in a modern regional industry and the most popular professions among the young generation.

The project also involves the municipality of Alta, Norway (lead partner), the Arctic University of Norway (Alta, Norway), the University of Oulu (Finland), the Association of contractors for Arctic projects «Murmansk shelf» and Murmansk Arctic State University.
