Murmansk Arctic State University, the autonomous non-commercial organization for support of the national tourism «AgroEcoTourism» and the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia are going to sign an agreement at MASU on August 27.

The parties of the agreement will discuss the implementation of the new stage of the «Gastronomic Map of Russia» federal project in the Murmansk region. The project implies voluntary certification and launching of joint educational projects in the fields of tourism and hospitality.

Federal innovative project «Gastronomic Map of Russia» has been existing since 2017 and is implemented under the auspices of the Federal Agency for Tourism of the Russian Federation. Expertise is provided by competent and relevant civil organizations — Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia and the National Culinary Association of Russia.

The aim of the project is to present modern Russia as a developed multicultural nation that has great traditions and history reflected in the diverse cuisines and gastronomical traditions of the peoples of the country. The project seeks to promote the modern regional cuisines and is looking for the regional goods with the most promising export value.

This year a new stage of the project has started — the voluntary certification. As the agreement is signed, the new gastronomic tourism certification system will be presented. MASU will become the platform for implementation of the project in the region. The first project certificates will be granted to the Murmansk region enterprises on August 28 at a press-conference in Teriberka.

The agreement will be signed by the Acting rector of MASU Irina Shadrina, the head of «Gastronomic Map of Russia» Ekaterina Shapovalova and the President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia Igor Bukharov.
