At the end of August, the International Military-Technical Forum «Army-2020» was held in the Moscow Region. On August 25, a thematic round table was held on the topic «Development of technologies and diversification of the military-industrial complex for the benefit of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation». The event was organized by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East (Minvostokrazvitiya) and Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU).

The main goal of the round table is to determine the priority areas of scientific and technological development of the Arctic in the Russian Federation and the scientific and technical potential of higher education in the interests of the development of the Arctic zone of Russia. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, experts from the scientific community and large scientific, technological and industrial companies.

The leading researcher of the International Information and Analytical Centre for Interdisciplinary Research of the Development of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation Georgy Gogoberidze took part in the panel discussion on behalf of the Murmansk Arctic State University. He spoke about the activities of the Information and Analytical Platform for Innovative Arctic Technologies (IAP MAGU-KSC), that has been created and is currently functioning at MASU.

The report attracted an increased interest of experts as this Platform serves to establish direct contacts between developers of innovative Arctic products and technologies and potential customers and consumers.

After the panel discussion, negotiations were held with representatives of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East concerning scientific and technological projects of the University, which could be supported by the Ministry. In addition, preliminary agreements were reached on cooperation between MASU and the developers of innovative Arctic products, in particular, LLC «Alternative Energy» (Izhevsk) and LLC «Snowbike» (Samara).
