The work meeting on the upcoming emergency response training took place at MASU. Representatives of the university, EMERCOM office for the Murmansk region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, consulates of Norway and Finland and volunteer organizations participated in the meeting.

The participants discussed administrative aspects of rescuing a great number of foreign citizens. According to the training scenario, the wrecked ship has many foreign passengers, including citizens of the Kingdom of Norway and the Republic of Finland. Apart from evacuation, the rescue operation implies administrative activities on the shore — temporary accommodation for the passengers, visas and transportation to homeland for foreigners.

MASU volunteers will take part in the training too. Translation students, for example, will help foreign tourists to reduce stress and decide on further actions.

Two groups of tourists need rescue — injured and not injured. Both groups should pass border control to legitimize their presence on the Russian territory.

The trainings will take place on September 7-8.
