MASU Apatity branch joins Russian Green Universities Association

The campus of Murmansk Arctic State University in Apatity became a member of the Association of Green Universities of Russia.

The Association was established in 2017 to implement the environmental principles of development and green economy in Russian universities. Each university, as a member of the Association, opened student environmental clubs to promote green practices.

As for now, the Association includes 137 universities from 61 regions. The main campus of Murmansk Arctic State University became a member of the Association last March.

In only one year, ECO-Arctic, a student association at MASU, entered the top ten in ‘Share with us 1.0' movement on the Association's platform, presented the university at the Annual Meeting of the Association, took part in the educational marathon and eco-bike ride, as well as participated in webinars and organized numerous recycle festivals.

Now the Apatity branch will also be able to participate in the Association's events and marathons by promoting environmental education among youth, creating student eco-movements, and building cooperation between environmentally-oriented student and youth associations.
