MASU opens Arctic Scientific Centre of the Russian Academy of Education

Earlier in February, Olga Vasilyeva, President of the Russian Academy of Education, and Irina Shadrina, Rector of MASU, signed an agreement establishing a scientific centre of the Russian Academy of Education in Murmansk Arctic State University.

Over the years of its work, MASU has followed its unique path of transformation: from a teacher's institute of the Soviet era to a modern university with international projects. Murmansk Arctic State University is the only university in the region training higher-education academic staff. The university has a wealth of experience and traditions of teaching and educating teachers-to-be.

One of the University's key research areas is the project 'Innovative Pedagogical Approaches and Socio-Psychological Well-Being of the Population'. The project implies various R&D and practice-oriented initiatives, more than ten of which are already in progress.

The agreement on scientific cooperation between MASU and the Academy was signed online during the University's Academic Council. Irina Shadrina and Olga Vasilyeva planned to hold a meeting to exchange the originals of the agreement anytime soon.

Under the agreement, both institutions look forward to integrating their scientific potential in order to implement joint fundamental and exploratory research in the field of pedagogy, psychology, and other sciences and in innovative projects.

'It is especially important for us to open the centre at Murmansk Arctic State University during Russia's Year of Teachers and Mentors. We would like to thank our colleagues for having confidence in us,' said Irina Shadrina during the ceremony of agreement signing.
