Supervisory board approved creation of the Engineering center in MAU
Supervisory board of Murmansk Arctic University held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Denis Manturov.
Andrey Chibis, the Governor of Murmansk region, also participated in the discussion on development of MAU. The statesman expressed gratitude to Denis Manturov for his support of the region and university. Joining them were Vice Governor Elena Dyagileva and administration of Murmansk Arctic University.
The main point for discussion was the foundation of Engineering center for prototyping and biotechnologies in Murmansk Arctic University. The creation of a set of advanced engineering and technical developments in specialized equipment and biotechnologies for marine vessels, as well as components for cultivation, storage, and recycling of marine bio-resources, will be made possible by the Center.
As noted by Georgy Gogoberidze, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs, the Center plans to invent new ways of producing detergents for marine vessel and vessel equipment cleaning, food and bio-additives for fish, as well as process liquids and solutions for flotation based on surfactants important for mining industry.
The concept of the Engineering center for prototyping and biotechnologies was approved. In the middle of 2024, the University is going to take part in the Ministry of Industry and Trade grant competition aimed at founding engineering centers on the basis of universities and scientific organizations.
