The Consul General of India in Saint Petersburg has met with MAU students
The Consul General of India came to Murmansk for the first time to discuss the main areas of cooperation between India and Murmansk region in different fields, such as science, technology, nuclear power industry, and pharmaceutics. The meeting with Olga Vovk, the Vice Governor of Murmansk region, and the heads of regional ministries was part of Kumar Gaurav's working visit. Having learned that there, in the largest city beyond the Arctic Circle, the Consul General expressed a desire to meet them.
At Murmansk Arctic University, 32 students are studying on «General Medicine» education programme in English and one is learning Russian, all of them coming from India. MAU is included in the list of the World Directory of Medical Schools and the list of medical universities recommended by the Indian Embassy in the Russian Federation. The students will go through their practical training in the leading medical institutions of Murmansk.
At the meeting with Kumar Gaurav, Indian students spoke to the Consul General about how unique and exciting it is to study at the University, participate in its life, acquire a profession in the Arctic, as well as educate the people of the Russian North about Indian culture and traditions. Kumar Gaurav noted that, according to the students' reviews, all conditions for comfortable living and studying are created for them at the University.
«Murmansk Arctic University has cooperation agreements with the Jawaharlal Nehru University and Karpagam Academy of Higher Education. It provides opportunities for cooperation between teachers and researchers, participation in online conferences and seminars, joint publication activity,» Diana Kuznetsova, the Minister for Education and Science noted. «The Consul General's visit is yet another proof of friendship and strengthening of partnership between Murmansk region and India. I am certain that these ties are going to grow stronger!»
