Strengthening the Ties: MAU Students Met the Consul of India
On March 13, Mr. Kalrav Mishra, Consul for Commercial Affairs of the Consulate General of India in St. Petersburg, made an official visit to Murmansk Arctic University. This meeting was a significant event aimed at enhancing international cooperation between India and Russia, particularly in the fields of education, science, and cultural exchange.
During the meeting with students of the Medicine and Life Sciences Institute, Mr. Mishra inquired about their academic progress, living conditions, and future plans. The students shared their experiences about life in Russia, praising the high quality of education at MAU and the friendly nature of the local community. They expressed their appreciation for the support provided by both the Consulate and the University. Mr. Mishra emphasised the Government of India's interest in ensuring that students receive excellent education abroad and return home with newfound knowledge and experience.
Representing the University were Viktoria Yatsenko, Vice Rector for Educational Affairs; Viktoria Piksendeeva, Director of the Further Education for Adults and Children Institute; Lyudmila Mishanina, Director of the Medicine and Life Sciences Institute; and Yulia Shestova, Head of the International Cooperation Office. They discussed opportunities for expanding collaboration, underlining the importance of educational and scientific partnerships between Russia and India, particularly in Arctic research, which is becoming increasingly relevant for both countries.
«We are delighted that students from India choose our university and our unique region for their studies. They bring diversity to our academic environment, foster cultural exchange, and strengthen friendly relations between our countries,» remarked Yulia Shestova.
As the visit concluded, Mr. Mishra expressed gratitude to the University administration for the hospitality and hope for the continued development of cooperation. The Consul's visit highlights the importance of international cooperation in education and contributes to the strengthening of bonds between Russia and India.
