Traditional 'Arctic Readings' Echo at MAU

The regional research conference «Arctic Readings 2026» — themed Neighbours in the Far North: Peoples and Borders in the Development of the Arctic — recently took place at Murmansk Arctic University's «Boiling Point» co-working space.

The event focused on scholarly exploration of the Arctic regions, preservation of the North's cultural heritage, and advancement of regional studies in archaeology, ethnography, history and historiography, as well as international relations. Equally important was supporting research collaboration — sharing knowledge and experience to promote Arctic regional studies and the history of science in the Far North.

Professor Urban Wråkberg from Uppsala University (Sweden) was among the participants, adding an international dimension to the discussions.
